About The Botanical Bazaar is a family fun, earth friendly event that educates and inspires sustainable living and gardening. Set in the idyllic Country Paradise Parklands our two-day event is set to bloom with eco exhibitors, workshops, educational speakers, live music, kids’ nature-based activities, fantastic food and so much more. Everything green is showcased in a lively, entertaining and fun filled environment. Staged by the Rotary Club of Gold Coast, all proceeds go back to the local community. Dreamworld Fun Run
Dreamworld is thrilled to announce that early bird registrations are officially open for the highly anticipated 2024 Dreamworld Fun Run. Scheduled to take place on Sunday 4th August, this year’s event promises to be bigger, better, and more colourful than ever before with the park extending on last year’s event. Since its launch in 2021, the Dreamworld Fun Run has become a marquee event in the Gold Coast running calendar, featuring a unique experience with characters, colour, water pistols, wildlife, and plenty of entertainment on offer. This year, Dreamworld will open the event to more registrants than ever before, following the sell-out demand of last year. The 2024 Dreamworld Fun Run will feature the popular 2km Junior Dash and the exhilarating 5km Fun Run, where attendees can look forward to a day filled with fun, entertainment, and the chance to make an important difference. This year’s Dreamworld Fun Run will continue its tradition of giving back by supporting two incredible charities: LIVIN and Guide Dogs Queensland. As well as individual fundraising efforts, $5 from each entry purchased will directly contribute to their invaluable work, making a meaningful difference in the lives of many. Beaudesert Milky Way Masterclass 2024
Do you want to learn night photography to capture the beautiful Milky Way? Join multi-award-winning photographer David Magro for a night under the stars! Beginners and enthusiasts are welcome. The Masterclass takes place in a classroom before spending the night photographing the stars. You will leave with beautiful photographs. Most cameras can photograph the Milky Way and galaxies. Borrow one of their cameras on the night. Masterclass details will be provided upon booking . The Masterclass venue is the Beaudesert Bowls Cluband the amazing nearby dark sky photography location will be at Wyaralong Dam, directions will be provided on the night. During this Masterclass, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to photograph the Milky Way and the night sky. You will also gain insights into composing your photographs in low-light conditions and discover techniques to produce clear, noise-free images. Additionally, you will explore the art of seamlessly capturing breathtaking panoramas and acquire valuable knowledge for planning your future night photography sessions. Furthermore, the Masterclass will cover mastering effective editing techniques using the Milky Way Masterclass Suite. Explore the HOTA precinct and discover diverse arts careers, gaining perspectives from different aspects of our business. Following lunch, head over to HOTA Gallery for informative talks and tours led by educators, centred around the ongoing exhibition program and works from the HOTA Collection. Experience an immersive educational journey, unlocking the wonders of the arts and the behind-the-scenes magic. Suitable for grade 3 to 12 and all arts subjects. Once you've booked, our team will work with you to tailor the tour to your subject areas. Places are limited. Sneakers Unboxed | Drawing for Life with Sarah HustonEach month we invite leading artists and performers to curate poses, subjects and performances for you to draw, with all materials provided. Relax and unwind with short, guided drawing warm-ups, followed by long and sustained poses or still life subjects, with help from our guest artist and team of artist educators. Whether you’re new to drawing or one of the greats, all abilities are welcome to enjoy this unique and artful experience. The next two sessions, inspired by Gallery 1 exhibition Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street will have a sporty flavour and will be facilitated by Sarah Huston! Artist Bio Sarah Huston’s career spans many mediums and industries. Her professional background includes working as a creative director, designer, curator, event producer, artist, and founder of the women’s skateboarding media platform, Yeah Girl. These days you’ll mostly find Sarah working as an actor, a stunt performer, or consulting for organisations and brands on all things skateboarding.
